Paul Torpy is a Registered Private Provider. He has worked 28 years as an Occupational Therapist in Warrnambool and Melbourne, and the last 10 years as Manager and Clinician at Lyndoch Living Rehabilitation Services.

Paul's experience has involved Rehabilitation, specialising in self-management, skill maximization for older adults, younger adults living with disabling conditions and supporting individuals with mental health issues. In addition to an extensive professional network, Paul has a comprehensive knowledge of the South West Region and is available to travel to Warrnambool and surrounding areas such as Port Fairy, Portland, Hamilton, Camperdown, and Timboon.

Paul is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia, accredited with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and is a Certified Driving Assessor.

Occupational Therapy and Driving

Our aim is to optimise driver mobility and capacity to drive safely in conditions that suit their capabilities.

WOTS offers support to clients who, through injury or illness, are experiencing difficulties in relation to their ability to drive. We assess and evaluate the physical, behavioural or cognitive impairments of our client and their ability to drive safely, consistently and independently. WOTS can then make recommendations about driver rehabilitation, vehicle modifications and licence conditions to VicRoads Medical Review.

Based in Warrnambool, we are available to travel to surrounding areas such as Portland, Hamilton, Camperdown, and Timboon.

Occupational Therapy and Quality of Life

The WOTS aim is to assist people who are having difficulty with their everyday activities in order for them to be independent, improve their quality of life, and for them to remain living in their own home.

WOTS can conduct an assessment of your home, your local environment, and your day to day activities. We will look at safety issues and potential hazards and then make suggestions to make tasks easier and safer for you.

Some of the strategies we may recommend include:

advising on your approach to daily activities; exploring alternative methods for performing daily tasks
use of assistive devices, aids, and equipment
home modifications including installation of ramps, grab rails or improving access at cupboards and benches
